        1.    Secret Service agents dismantle network that could shut down New York cell phone system - 

    The system found by secret service agents connected to criminal activity in and around the city was located in five different locations and could have possibly shut down cell phone connection for all of New York. The system was also used to send assassination threats against U.S officials. (NBC News)



        2.    Quail Conservation Meeting in Magnolia on October 29 - 

    Magnolia will be among three south Arkansas sites that will host a quail conservation event. The event will support Open Pine Regional Conservation Partnership Program. The goal is to help restore Quail habitats, by opening forest canopy, and conducting prescribed burns. (Magnolia Reporter)

    3.    Arkansas Fires Sam Pittman in middle of 6th season, names Bobby Petrino interim head coach - 

    Arkansas fired Sam Pittman, the head coach for six years of the Arkansas Razorbacks football team, Sunday. The popular coach's record with the Razorback is 32-34 with three bowl wins under his belt. Offensive Coordinator Bobby Petrino, former head coach at Arkansas, will fill in as interim for the remainder of the season. (AP News)

  



4.    Trump's unfolded claims heap new stress on household brand Tylenol - 

    Earlier this week, President Donald Trump put the well-established pain reliever, Tylenol, back into another national image crisis after commenting between the medicine and autism. During a press conference he urged all citizens to not take the prescription, especially pregnant mothers. The brand has been under investigation once because of the 1980's cyanide poisoning causing stocks in the brand to fall, after the President's message the same event is occurring. (AP News)



5.    Check Your Freezer: More shrimp sold in Arkansas recalled over radioactive threat - 

    Over 85,000 bags of Kroger shrimp are being recalled for potential contamination, containing a radioactive threat. The U.S Food and Drug administration said three varieties of shrimp sold at Kroger stores in 31 states may have the possibility of being contaminated with cesium-137. The liquid is used to gauge the flow of liquid pipes. If ingested cesium-137 can burn you, acute radiation sickness, and be fatal. This shrimp brand is sold at Walmart.  (KARK News)



6.    Whale surfaces, capsizes fishing boat of New Hampshire coast - 

    While two men were fishing off the coast of New Hampshire, they saw a whale in the distance but soon were thrown overboard due to the whale coming to close to their small vessel. A good Samaritan rescued the two individuals, and luckily no injuries occurred.

7.    White House Says TikTok Deal Will Be Signed This Week - 

    The White House is claiming that there will be a U.S deal signed with TikTok this week to finally end the back and forth of uncertainty that comes with the app. The Chinese government itself isn't commenting on the deal itself, but we do know now that if the deal is signed, that the U.S operations of the app will be mostly controlled by U.S investors. (Social Media Today) 

8.     Taylor Swift's Life of a Showgirl movie to debut in theaters with music video - 

    On October 3, the same day " The Life of a Showgirl" releases, Taylor Swift will debut "Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl." The film is a behind the scenes and personal reflections of Swift as she wrote her latest album.(MSN News)


9.     Grammy - Winning songwriter Brett James, who co - wrote "Jesus Take The Wheel", dies in a plane crash - 

    Grammy award song writer Brett James, known for writing country hits like " Jesus Take the Wheel" and "When the Sun Goes Down" was involved in a fatal plane crash September 19, in North Carolina. The authorities claimed that the plane went down for "unknown circumstances", but the investigation is still currently ongoing. (AP News)

10.     Ukraine uses remote - controlled vehicles for dangerous missions to protect soldiers -

    To help save their soldiers from life threatening missions, Ukrainian army is ready to deploy, " robot on wheels." From being in combat for three and half years, they are running short on soldiers, so the robots are able to complete some of the tasks of soldiers. The robots can carry supplies, clear mines, and evacuate wounded men. The robots are controlled by joystick, like a video game controller. (AP News)

11.     Maine wardens rescue moose trapped for hours in abandoned well - 

    A bull moose fell into an abandoned well in Maine was pulled to safety after a five-hour rescue mission. A person who owned the land could hear a noise, later went and searched where the noise was coming from and saw a pair of antlers. The family alerted the wardens, who brought a biologist to sedate the animal, that way the rescue would be safer. The wardens later joked that once the moose was rescued and returned safely away from the well, the only thing "bruised" was his ego. (AP News)

12.     Trump says he now believes Ukraine, with NATO's help, can win back all territory lost to Russia -

    President Trump says that Ukraine can win back all land lost to Russia, a shift from the U.S leaders call on Kyiv to make concessions to end war. Trump explains that with the support of the European Union, that Ukraine is in the position to win back everything that Russia has took from them. (MSN News)

13. NASA plans first crewed Moon mission in 50 years for February 2026 - 

    NASA has said that there are hopes to send astronauts on a ten-day trip around the moon in February. It has been 50 years since any country has flown on a lunar mission, in which NASA will send four astronauts to complete the mission. The mission is called, "Artemis II", in which NASA wants to establish long term presence of the lunar surface. (BBC News)

14.    James Van Der Beek Makes Surprise Appearance at Dawson's Creek Reunion After Canceling - 

    James Van Der Beek wasn't going to let the reunion of Dawson's creek go on without him, even if he is currently battling stage three colorectal cancer. Beek surprised his fans via video appearance, he thanked everyone for still appreciating him even though he wasn't present at the reunion. ( Entertainment News)

15.     Young Hunters killed by lightning strike in Colorado found after 2- week search -         

    Two young elk hunters were found fatally struck by lightning in Colorado, more than two weeks after they had been reported missing during severe weather. A massive search was conducted for the men, by aircraft, search and rescue, horseback rides, and volunteers. Investigators found the men, two weeks later, and evidence showing they were struck by lightning as they were trying to reach for their car for safety during the storm. (FOX News)
